As the sole organizer of our Fairmont, WV chapter of the March For Science, I was ecstatic to receive endorsements from both the Fairmont State University Debate & Forensics Club as well as The Fairmont State University Model United Nations Team. The continuing outpouring of support for our cause (in just my local network of friends and colleagues) has been overwhelmingly encouraging. #WeThePeople are our nation and should strive to retain our seat amongst the world leaders in STEM fields and research.
ReplyDeleteI will continue my work with other academic and community entities, in the effort of gaining every more support for our cause.
I would be remissed if i neglected to mention a rather lovely woman in her 70's that I came in contact with this evening while speaking with local businesses; whom after overhearing my pitch to the owners, chose to engage me about the march. She then spoke of all the amazing things she has seen in science throughout her life. From: Drying machines, smaller TV's, and (the one that really hit me hard) the defibrillator that was responsible for giving her more time with the love of her life (She asked not to be named as she teared up and hugged me).
